Stop 1
Trabocchi Coast: the soul of the Adriatic
Stretching along the southern coast of Abruzzo, the Trabocchi Coast is famous for its traditional wooden fishing platforms suspended above the sea. Scenic coastal roads, hidden coves, panoramic viewpoints, and small fishing villages create one of the most cinematic landscapes in the region.
Driving slowly along the coastline reveals an Abruzzo shaped by sea, wind, and old maritime traditions that still survive today.
Take time to stop along the route, enjoy the views, and discover the quieter corners between the beaches and cliffs.
UMA tip
Before reaching the coast, stop at the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere. Perched above the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by olive groves, it offers one of the most panoramic and atmospheric viewpoints along the journey south.
